This program intends to prevent and decrease substance abuse through ongoing neighborhood clean-up projects. This involves hands on restoration of the abandoned Fairbanks grade school with the goal of teaching the value of accountability and commitment. Neighborhood clean-ups aim to diminish the perception of crime through encouraging members of the community to become more engaged.
Come Clean Program
We aim to develop and encourage lifelong wellness habits. Fairbanks will offer cooking lessons in which families and neighbors are brought together in a test kitchen to empower citizens to live healthier lives through their diet. Farm to Table initiatives will provide neighbors the ability to farm, harvest, process, educate and serve from one single location, while providing examples of environmental stewardship in an interconnected community.
Commercial Kitchen
Through a local donation by Altec, a computer lab will be available for hosting programs for children, students, and adults. Courses on resume building, vocational skills, personal finance and Microsoft Office are among those courses to be offered.

The Fairbanks assists in funding visual and preforming arts opportunities at the, Henderson Unit of the Boys and Girls Club of Springfield through our annual benefit, Fashion Forward. Fine Arts foster connections and trust between members of the community while promoting personal understanding and eliminating stereotypes. We hope to expand by offering music lessons, visual art galleries, painting, drawing and photography classes.

Gardening enhances the natural beauty of the community and provides opportunities to educate children and adults about nutrition and the importance of locally produced, healthy foods. Gardening projects at the Fairbanks include: beehives, composting, vermiculture, high tunnels, street side gardening, handicap accessible raised beds, and light-weight construction material for rooftop gardening.
